2137 Dwight is a privately-owned student housing project with a new 6-story building and retains two 2-story existing residential buildings within the site. The architectural scale and rhythm of the building enhances the pedestrian experience while minimizing the scale and mass. At the ground floor, recessed areas with planting, an angled storefront wall and exterior stairs with metal panel accents provide visual interest and create an active presence.

The massing generates an overall open experience with the street front masses located at the center of the site. Ample amount of landscaping is provided between with an open-air courtyard and circulation the new and existing buildings on site. The forms in the new building feature open air exterior walkways. One of the forms is angled to further accentuate the break and to allow natural light to filter into the courtyard.
